Yesterday was a good day. Belle and Rain completed their mission. Planting seeds. Tea and Japanese sweets. I may have had too much joy all at once, but it was a good day.

This morning we sat around the table with Belle, Rain, and Tulu and enjoyed the seafood. I hope that eventually the Great Spirits, who are not so interested in eating, will be able to eat with us every day.

We learned yesterday that if we offer them a good drink, they are likely to barge in even if we refuse, but we'll keep the help of alcohol as a last resort.

So, what shall we do today? Now that everyone's back, we should start thinking about a suicide mission to the demon's lair.

"Oh, Yuta. Do you have any plans for today?"

"I was thinking of leveling up, but what do you have in mind?"

"Mm. That's it. Make fertilizer with small fish and seaweed.

You mentioned it before. The ones you spread in the space to grow the forest.

"Oh, that. I'll be right there if it's urgent. What do you say?"

"Mm. We'll need a lot of it, so we'd better get moving. Sylphy said she would call the spirits of the forest when the seeds sprout, so we'll need them soon.

You said four to five days to sprout. Soon means that's all the time we have. Even if they sprout, they won't come if they don't have a place to grow the plants. Then the vegetables will be far away from here for a long time. We're gonna have to get our act together.

"How much? It takes up a lot of space, so I don't know how much to prepare.

"Hmm. Considering the density of the fertilizer in the field, at least five times that amount. I'd say at least five times... and preferably eight times as much.

Wow. Can you go eight times as high? If I stay at the beach house and just keep making things, can I get by? It's just... Even now Belle and Rain are looking at the seeds they buried. I want to be back before they sprout.

"If I go now and stay overnight, I can get the quantity ready, but if I have Belle, Rain, and Tulu come with me, I won't be able to water the plants. It would be hard to ruin all the seeds.

"That's easy. Deanne can water them.

"You have to have a contract to cooperate using force."

"You need to be smarter. You can't ask me to water your plants. All you have to do is get Deanne in the mood to water the base every day."

That's what you're saying. But is that really how it's supposed to work? It's too childish an excuse. You're just trying to save face, aren't you?

"Okay. So Deanne should feel like watering the base every day. It wouldn't be a problem at all if it happened to fall on the fields, would it?"

He glances at Dine, who is listening next to him. I have to be explicit, because Deanne is a natural. She might not get the message.

"Right. If Deanne feels like watering on her own, there's no problem.

Nomos also raises his voice and glances at Dine. With a wry smile, Dine gets up from her seat and launches a stream of water from the fountain into the sky. A few moments later, the water falls on the base like raindrops.

"Whew! "Whew... I feel so refreshed. The land of the dead is so dry that it bothers me to look at it..."

I hear Deanne's white voice. Thank you for reading the air.

"The problem is solved, but I wonder if this is the right thing to do. Are you sure about this, Spirit?

"Don't be rude. Your premise is wrong to begin with. Who else but you can speak to spirits normally? I don't have a contract with a spirit. Tea together. This situation was never even contemplated in the first place.

I see. That's it. It's a bad thing, but it's a new thing, so there are a lot of loopholes to get around.

"Huh? So you didn't have to ask Belle and Rain to go out and get the seeds, you could have just yelled, "I wish the seeds had fallen in the field!"

I was pretty worried about sending Belle and Lane out on a nappy, and it took a lot of energy. ...... I wish I had known about it sooner.

"You can't have seeds. It is not unnatural for a forest spirit to have seeds, but for a spirit here to spread them would be completely punishable. After all, they carry things that have nothing to do with their duties and scatter them in an unnatural manner. The important thing is that they do not deviate from their duties.

That's why Dine is a water sprinkler. If I had whispered in his ear that I was worried about the seeds in the field without consulting Nomos, he might have watered them because they were needed to maintain the soil.

"So, when the forest spirits come, do they have a lot of seeds and stuff since it's their territory?"

"Hmm. A great spirit is not a burden, so it's not surprising if it has seeds. It wouldn't be a violation either.

That means that ...... Sylphy has been calling the Great Spirits, and the spirits of the forest must be Great Spirits too. The spirits of the forest must be spirits of the forest. The land where plants could grow...... might be able to manage with a white mumble.

Hey. Hey, what's the penalty for doing this in the first place? Can you ever be judged?"

"Yes, there is. It is said that the gods established the penalties so that the spirits with power cannot do as they please. They can be demoted or even extinguished if their power is taken away from them. In any case, it is a penalty that God has decreed and cannot even be avoided.

It was more intense than I thought it would be. Extinction is too scary.

"Well, you know what? I'll try not to say anything reckless.

Wise.

So, Sylphie. I'm going to go make fertilizer in the ocean, okay?"

"Okay."

After storing plenty of fresh water to wash the small fish and seaweed, we call out to Belle, Rain, and Tulu. We're going to the sea!

**

"It's the ocean!"

"It's the sea!"

"Cue cue."

"...... sea."

Belle and Rain were very excited, and Tulu accompanied my shouts in a slightly embarrassed whisper. Sylphy, by the way, is watching the situation as if it can't be helped.

"Well. "Well........ Rain. Troop Tul. I'll give you your assignments.

"Yee-ha ha!"

"Cu-cu-cu-cu."

"Yessir?"

"Trooper Bell. Agent Raine, secure the small fish. We're gonna need a lot more fish this time than last time. Can you do that?

"Yuta. Are there many of them?"

"When you're on duty, you're called captain. I like that."

"Yes, sir."

"There are so many of them, so good luck."

"Yee-ha ha!"

"Cu-cu-cu-cu-cu."

"Okay. Trooper Tulu, secure the seaweed. We'll need a lot of it. Good luck.

"Yes, sir."

Tulu seems to have tele. I've already opened up.

Then go!

Belle and Lane look happy. Tulu looks confused as he heads out to sea. I'm sorry, Tulu. I should have explained better.

"Yuta. I thought you were going to stop this..."

Sylphy looks aghast. I know exactly how she feels.

"I wanted to stop them, but Belle and Rain liked them too, so I've opened up. You know, it's a strange and exhilarating feeling when a human being abandons his or her shame."

"Don't be ashamed of what you have because it's important. Well, it's no problem with the spirits, but be careful where people are around."

Where people are. That's where we have a serious problem to begin with.

"Hey, Sylphie. Can I distinguish between a spirit and a human?

Sylphy looks surprised. No, his face is closer to a "what's he talking about?

"No, I can tell if they are floating or animal shapes. But Sylphie and Dene are incredibly beautiful women, but I can't tell the difference between them and humans, and Nomos looks just like the dwarves in the stories in my world, so what's the difference if they're spirits? I can only say that."

"Hey, Yuta. Calm down. You're saying some pretty embarrassing things."

...... sure is a little embarrassing. If Deanne could hear me, I'd faint in agony.

"Oh, yeah. ......Well, that's the thing, I can't really tell from the looks of it, what can I do?"

"That being said, I've never met anyone who can see us so clearly that we are indistinguishable from humans, so what can I do? ......Well, that's okay, lower and middle class spirits are often flying, and higher and greater spirits are rarely seen, so you should be fine."

"Really? Well, I've never seen a human before, and maybe I can spot one when I go to town. I'll try not to be as careless as possible."

"Yes, that would be good. By the way, don't you take seaweed?"

I feel like I'm getting sidetracked ...... but I guess that's the problem with putting it on Tulu alone.

"Right. I'm off."

I got into a pan and went with Tulu to collect seaweed. We take out a large rock and pile up seaweed and small fish. We ask Rain to wash them in fresh water and lay them on the rock to dry while we collect more small fish and seaweed. But breaking the fish's necks is hard work.

I don't feel like I'm in the ocean at all, just going through the motions. The sea is clear and beautiful, but maybe we need some beautiful women in swimsuits and some food stalls.

After a certain amount of fish is caught, the bell is asked to blow the wind to dry the small fish and seaweed.

"Whew. It's getting dark, let's go back to the beach house.

"Ninmu kanri yoo."

"Cue."

"Belle. Rain. This mission is not over because we still need more. Tomorrow and the day after that, we continue the mission.

Maninmu-ko!

Cue.

I know it's not easy for you, Tulu, but I'm counting on you.

I'll be fine.

Tulu nodded his head and I couldn't help but pat him on the head. Belle and Rain, who had been watching the scene, joined in the fray and played with each other. I'm so happy.

Back at the beach house, we process small fish and seaweed. I wash them, cut them up, and grind them into a powder with a mortar. We collect them during the day. We repeat the process at night for the next two days, and manage to get the required amount of fish. It is quite tiring to keep doing the same work.
