Mephisto’s cautious nature gave Dio the chance to turn the battle around. But Mephisto knew that as long as the Serpentine Door wasn’t closed, the battle wasn’t over just yet! At least that was the last thing Dio heard from Mephisto as his clone was destroyed! Now, except for the nuclear bomb, humankind seemed to have already exhausted all of their options! It was expected that once Mephisto made his appearance once more, he would be super cautious of everything!
What has Hell paid for this battle? It was just some useless demons that were meant to be killed anyway! It was such a barely noticeable loss to the Hell side that the army and the heroes were down in the dump. But Dio didn’t really care as his priority was to protect the Earth.
Now, Dio looked at the Serpentine Door as countless small demons still made their way out of there. He knew that his objective would be to close this door as the demon’s invasion must stop. As long as this door was closed, the Supreme Sanctuary could be rebuilt again!
But Dio had to think of a way to do so, as not even Mephisto had ever worried about the door getting damaged. It meant that not even the Nuclear Bomb would do anything to it.
“Cover me!” Dio shouted at the Avengers and flew towards the door with Galaxy. Tony and the others didn’t ask about what Dio would do and covered him anyway as they already trusted Dio completely! When Dio reached the door, he noticed that it was much bigger than he thought. The door itself didn’t emit any malicious aura either, which was weird coming from a door that demons used to walk into Earth.
Dio immediately summoned the [World] and ordered him to punch the door to activate its [Reality Overwrite] ability. Dio didn’t want to overwrite the existence of the door as he thought that it would be problematic to the multiverse’s rule. So, he wanted to change the state of the door from ‘Open’ to ‘Close’! After wasting so many Souls to experiment with Reality Overwrite, he knew that he couldn’t just write the door out of existence without receiving any nasty repercussion!
Therefore, Dio knew that his plan would work as the door had the ability to close and open in the first place! As soon as Dio overwrote the state of the door, he immediately succeeded as his soul count went down and the door started to close slowly.
“This is impossible!” a loud voice came from inside the door, and Dio immediately recognised that it was Mephisto’s voice! But then again, not even the Hell Lord himself would be able to stop the door from closing! It was because the Serpentine Door itself was tightly connected to the Multiverse Rules, and it only followed the rules itself. Meaning that once the door was closed, it would disappear immediately!
Just as Dio and the other Avengers couldn’t stop the door from emerging, Mephisto couldn’t stop the door from disappearing! So, Mephisto could only watch as Serpentine Door closed in front of him with Dio smirking on the other side!
But Dio soon frowned as he saw that the door hadn’t disappeared yet even though it was already closed tightly. Mephisto, on the other side, was also confused by the fact that the door hasn’t disappeared. He didn’t know what was happening right now, so he just stood watching the door in silence and observed what happened next.
Originally, Serpentine Door would only close and disappear as soon as it met certain conditions. But now that Dio had forcefully closed the door, it couldn’t disappear as the condition hasn’t been met yet. The demons that watched the door nervously at first immediately shouted cheerfully as the battle was still ongoing! The Demons resumed their attack as there was nothing they should worry about!
The heroes were getting desperate, and their fatigue returned as soon as they felt that they had lost their hope that the battle would end as soon as the door closed! But that wasn’t the case! No matter how they looked at it, the battle was still going on. Even though the demon no more demon marched through the door, there were still too many demons here right now!
The heroes knew that they deal with the situation composedly as humankind shouldn’t lose hope! They knew that humans had survived countless adversaries in the past, and they couldn’t give up now! They haven’t lost as long as they had still had hope!
These tough demons weren’t something new for them anymore. They just had to try harder and tough it out now! But fortunately for the army and the Avengers, most of the demons were rushing towards Dio as he was the one that closed the Serpentine Door!
