Tearwyn: “Artoria! Artoria!”

Hearing Tearwyn call my name, I open my eyes and find myself back in her sakura forest. Looking around, I quickly find Tearwyn jumping around excitedly behind me.

Artoria: “Hello, Tearwyn! What has gotten you so excited?”

Tearwyn: “Big sister Lilith just told me about this old custom from a human world! It’s called, “Halloween!” Do you know about it?”

Dismissing my armour, I smile down at her excitable form and give a nod.

Artoria: “I do, Tearwyn. Are you interested in Halloween?”

Tearwyn: “Yes! Big sister Lilith told me so many interesting things the humans do on Halloween! Like Trick or Treating! Or the best part, dressing up as your favourite dark monster or person! Oh, speaking of that! LOOK!”

Tearwyn then snapped her fingers, and a cloud of pink smoke erupted around her. Several seconds later the cloud dissipated, and what I saw would have slain me if I was a mortal.

Tearwyn was standing there in a proud pose, with her little hands balled into fists resting on her hips. She now only had 9 tails, and they were about as long as her now. But what really changed was her clothes. She was dressed up like a little Kitsune version of myself! Except the “corruption” lines on her armour and body were a vivid pink.

‘Oh my Lilith, she even has a tiny version of Excalibur Morgan in her colours! Ack! CUTE!’

Tearwyn: “Behold! When Big sister Lilith said they liked to dress up as their favourite dark creatures or people, I immediately thought of you! And big sister helped me with this costume!”

She then got a little timid, and her ears and tails drooped a little while she poked her two index fingers together.

Tearwyn: “Do… do you like it?”

Artoria: “I love it! I would be dead from how cute you look if I was mortal, Tearwyn.”

Her ears and tails shot up, and she let out an adorable giggle.

Tearwyn: “Yay! Look, look! I even have a version of your sword.”

She then started to swing the tiny Excalibur around while making whoosh sounds.

‘Please, stop! I very well may disappear from this cuteness overload!’

Tearwyn: “By the way, big sister Lilith also did something else for me. She made it so I can ignore Divine Law for tonight, and go down to a world and Trick or Treat with you! Will you please come with me?”

The massive smile on my face would have gotten even larger if it was at all possible.

Artoria: “I would LOVE too, Tearwyn! Since most mortals can’t see me, I will just be your escort though. Is that fine?”

Tearwyn gave an energetic nod, and jumped up to my chest to hug me.

Tearwyn: “It’s fine! We can have fun even if the boring mortals can’t see you!”

Catching Tearwyn, and placing her so she can sit on my left arm like a chair, I give her a nod.

Artoria: “Did you want me to also armour up just in case someone can see me? That way they can see we match?”

Tearwyn: “Yes please!”

Giving a little chuckle, I do as she asked and re-summoned my armour.

Artoria: “I am ready, Tearwyn.”

Tearwyn started to bounce a little on my arm, and then snapped her fingers. One of her portals appeared, and then she cheered while yelling.

Tearwyn: “For the tricks, for the treats! For fun times with Artoria! LET’S GO!!”

Laughing at the ball of pure adorable energy on my arm, I walk through the portal. A few seconds later, we stepped out on the sidewalk in some random neighbourhood. Tearwyn then jumped off my arm, and summoned a plain looking pink bag for her left hand.

She then held up her black and pink Excalibur and said, “Our night begins! Onward!”

Artoria: “After you, little Artwyn.”

When I said that, she spun around with a smile on her face.

Tearwyn: “I like that name! I’ll be ‘Artwyn’ when dressed like this! Thank you Artoria!”

Smiling, I give her a nod, and follow after her as she almost literally starts skipping to the first house near us. Looking around the street, all of the houses are decorated in Halloween themes and there are a lot of humans out trick or treating.

‘None of them saw us portal in, as expected of Tearwyn.’

Nodding to myself, I stood behind Tearwyn as we came up to the first house and Tearwyn knocked on the door. Several seconds later, the door opened and a middle aged woman stood there with a bowl of candies. She looked down at Tearwyn and smiled.

???: “And who might you be, little Knight?”

Tearwyn: “My name is Artwyn! I am a knight of the forces of Darkness! Trick or treat!”

The woman giggled softly at the adorable knight of Darkness holding out a bag for sweets, as she handed Tearwyn a few pieces of candy.

???: “The forces of Light better beware, with such a strong and imposing knight on Darkness’s side!”

Tearwyn then took her proud pose again, and nodded.

Tearwyn: “They better!”

The woman laughed again and said, “Truly fearsome! You have a wonderful night, Knight Artwyn!”

Tearwyn: “Thank you, I will!”

We left as the woman closed her door. Tearwyn was nothing but smiles as she spoke up.

Tearwyn: “First mission, success! She must be a very smart mortal to see that I was dressed as you so easily.”

Suppressing a giggle, I say, “Indeed! Onward?”

Tearwyn: “Onward!”

This back and forth went on for several houses. When we were standing in line for another house, I happened to hear something that ruined the mood slightly for myself.

???: “See that little one there?”

???: “Hmm? Oh, the little fox pretending to be a human knight?”

???: “Yes. She has nine tails. Isn’t that as many as the Youkai leader has? Her daughter maybe? Where are the guards?”

???: “Stepped away, or she snuck out? I heard the child was a bit of a handful. What are you thinking?”

???: “I am thinking we grab her, and make that bitch of a mother of hers OUR bitch.”

Having had enough of that conversation I lean down to Tearwyn and whisper in her ear.

Artoria: “Tearwyn, I need to step away for a second. Just wait here in line for a bit, okay? I’ll be back as soon as possible.”

Tearwyn turned around and gave me a nod.

Tearwyn: “Okay! Make it hurt, alright? They are ruining my time with you, and that upsets me!”

My eyebrows raise a little at the realisation she also heard them. Noticing my look, she giggled and pointed at her ears.

Artoria: “Right, of course you heard them. Don’t worry, I will. I am also angered that they are interrupting my time with you, Tearwyn.”

Beaming a large smile at me, she nods and turns her attention back to the line of people in front of her. Meanwhile, I turn my attention to the soon to be very dead idiots who are ruining the night with their presence.

‘I guess this also answers what world we ended up in. Not that it matters.’

As I got near the idiots, devils I assumed, it was clear they had very weak souls. As they had no reaction to my presence as I got close. Shaking my head at the weak fools, I grab both of them by the neck harshly and lift them off the ground.

Artoria: “I know you shit stains can’t hear me, but I am so very cross with you.”

I look at the garbage struggling in my left hand and glare at him.

Artoria: “I know just the thing for you.”

I let go of his neck, and clamp down my hand on his jaw, crushing it. As he began to release painful, muffled screams I gave a nod while I started to apply more pressure on the idiot's neck in my right hand.

Artoria: “Can’t have your screams ruining more of the night after all. Now then. Blood Boil, Perception of Infinity.”

His muffled screams increased a thousand fold as his blood started to literally boil him alive. He desperately started to claw at my armoured hand around his face before everything about him but his skeleton started to melt away. For us, his torment was over in a matter of seconds as I let his skeletal remains collapse into the goop that used to be attached to him.

But for him, it was millions and millions of years when I forcibly applied “Perception of Infinity” to him. This spell functions much like the skill [Thought Acceleration] if it was dialled up to a million with the amount of mana I poured into it. You normally don’t want to give an enemy time to think like that, but for this instance? It was the perfect spell.

The garbage in my right hand started to wildly claw and thrash at the, to him, invisible hand on his throat. This was the one who started this whole thing, so I had a little something special for him. First, I crushed his throat so he couldn't scream.

Artoria: “And now for you. Blood Boil, Sigil of Soul Flame, Perception of Infinity.”

Much the same thing happened for this insect, but with one key difference. Sigil of Soul Flame. This was a massively forbidden spell that burns a literal sigil of Flame into the victims soul. Strong souls can fend off such spells, but this shit stain? No chance. Now, his soul will forever feel like it is burning in the pits of hell until I, or someone else as powerful or more so than me, removes the sigil.

Letting go of the second skeleton, I turn around and make my way back to Tearwyn. Just in time too it seems, as she just left the door. I give her a smile and a wave, as she beams a smile and excitedly waves back at me. She trots over to me, and opens her treat bag to show me her gains so far.

Tearwyn: “Look, Artoria! That mortal gave me a FULL SIZE chocolate bar because she loved my costume!”

Unconsciously patting her on the head I smile and say, “That’s awesome. Of course she loved your costume. You are in it!”

Releasing a giggle, she then looks towards the area between the houses the two idiots were hiding at.

Tearwyn: “I liked what you did with the interruption. I also applied my own soul curse to both of them as their souls left.”

As we turned to walk down the sidewalk to the next house, I tilted my head and asked her what curse she applied to them.

Tearwyn: “They will be reborn as nothing but weak and powerless monsters for the next million years or so! I also asked Big sister Lilith to make the sigil you applied to one of them permanent. She said she would love too. Big sister Lilith is so dependable!”

Nodding my head I say, “Yes, Lady Lilith can be very dependable.”

‘Not everyone receives the same treatment, naturally. But I am sure Tearwyn gets that.’

Walking up to the next house, Tearwyn knocked on the door and said the classic line.

Tearwyn: “Trick or Treat!”

A rather large man, who was basically made of nothing but muscle, opened the door and looked down on little Tearwyn. I took notice that there was no candy bowl, or anything of the sorts. I guess this will be our first dry house.

???: “Trick!”

What happened next, almost had me in tears with laughter. Without missing a beat, Tearwyn nodded her head to the man.

Tearwyn: “Finally! Trick it is!”

With a snap of her fingers, the man erupted into pink smoke. When it cleared, the muscle bound man was gone. In his place was a much smaller, adorable, and stunned looking Wolf Girl.

Tearwyn: “There! You have been tricked! Enjoy!”

Tearwyn then started to giggle a lot as she turned around and left. I also couldn’t hold it in anymore when the new Wolf Girl fainted on the spot and fell backwards. While laughing, I nudged the Wolf Girl lightly with my magic further into her house, and closed the door as we left.

Artoria: “Wonderful trick, Tearwyn!”

Tearwyn: “Thank you! I’ve been wanting to play a few tricks all night. But it’s been only treats so far! Oh well. Onwards, Artoria! The night is still young!”

Artoria: “Indeed it is, Tearwyn! Let’s enjoy it some more, shall we?”

She let out a cute little “woo!” cheer as we continued our trick or treating.
