I leave the workshop to Haruhammer to lock the door and leave the building.

It is nighttime.

But the lights of magical tools are shining brightly, and I can see busy people working here and there.

The air is somewhat tense.

The soldiers of our country are attacking us. I can't help this tension.

I take out a grass brick and start chewing on it as I walk. It's my first meal since returning to Harbor Fulton.

I could have gone straight back to my tent next door, but I have a few things on my mind.

I look at the stars and ponder.

Eventually, I take out my second grass brick, chew on it, and start walking aimlessly.

I see more and more familiar faces in Harbor Fulton.

We exchange greetings with the people we pass, ask a few questions, and keep walking.

"Master Rust! You're eating that stuff again? This is delicious! Please take it."

A rittner passes us on the way and gives us a skewer of meat. It seems that the rittners are working overtime to provide food for the nighttime work in the department.

I gratefully accept a large portion of the grilled skewers and take turns eating them with the grass bricks.

"Yes, the change of taste makes the food more palatable.

In the meantime, the first destination comes into view. It is a newly built facility where the supply of bricks has been stabilized. It is located just as I had been told by a passing acquaintance earlier.

I look around and find a place that looks like an entrance. As I headed that way, I saw a person standing at the entrance.

"Master Rust! Can I help you?"

"Has Roa or Aari been here?"

"Yes. You two, up there. I'll show you the way.

I'll take your word for it and let you show me around.

Yes, I asked as we walked where they might have been, and they told me it must have been this watchtower.

We reach the top floor of the tower. A figure stands there.

"Ahri, Lois. Good evening."

I call out to them.

"Hmm," Roa replies shortly, sitting on the edge of the tower, his legs dangling.

"Master Rust, good evening. How can I help you? Ary looks surprised.

"Here you are. Here you go. I offered him the meat skewer that Leitner had given me earlier.

Roa, who had moved from his sitting position to right in front of me before I knew it, quickly snatches the meat skewer from me.

I laugh and take out an additional meat skewer from my backpack and hand it to Ary.

"Well, thank you very much. "Oh, Loa, you're not behaving yourself. And don't thank me.

Hmm. I'll be careful. Rust, you're so smart," replies Loa, with a mouthful of gravy around his mouth.

Roa, who has finished his meal in a flash, looks as if he is not satisfied with his meal.

I take out an additional skewer.

A gust of wind passes in front of us.

After the wind had passed, the meat skewer disappeared from my hand and moved into Roa's hand.

"So, Ary. I'm sorry I left you to report to Kalin during the day.

"No, no problem. How is the countermeasure against the enemy?

"I'll finish it tomorrow. Right now it's in the process of extracting the materials. So, to the main question, has there been any change in the speed of the enemy's march? Have you been marching sleeplessly through the night?"

"No. "No. The march, it's stopping," said Lois, who eats while talking. He tells me that he was using his farsightedness to see.

"I see. That's good. Then we'll be there in time."

I sigh in relief, one less thing to worry about.

"Well, I guess I'll be going now. You two should get some rest."

I left Ary and Roa and started walking towards Kareen.
