While he was in his stupor a loud shout suddenly rang out towards the whole camp.
"Fire! Fire! The catapults are on fire!" shouted a soldier as he rushed towards the camp.
With this shout, everyone was alarmed and immediately rushes out of their tents. They can now see a rising black smoke in the air.
Everyone immediately worked together and ran towards the nearby water hole. Some even gathered the dirt on the ground as they quickly ran towards the catapult's location.
As they are only a few kilometers away from the main army the smoke was also seen by them.
When the soldiers arrive in the location where the catapults are being assembled, they saw a lot of bodies on the ground.
And soon they found that all of their engineers and scholars who are assigned to assemble the catapults have been slain. Even the many soldiers guarding them were all killed. This made everyone dumbfounded.
But then upon seeing the rising smoke, they still tried to put off the fire but it was all too late.
When General Gong Yang saw the catapult burning, he was really angered. He began to throw things to the ground and immediately entered the tent. In his anger, he delivered a vicious kick at Gao Fung's gut making the later almost faint in pain.
