Takei proposed many fancy places to go eat dinner at, but Akari denied all of them in fear for his wallet's health.
In the end, they decided to go to a small hole in the wall ramen place that was nearby Takei's house.
When they entered the ramen place, the burly man working the front counter kindly motioned for them to take a seat.
As they sat down, Takei noticed that there were a lot of businessmen and businesswomen that were here for a late dinner after their long shifts.
He felt a bit out of place since he and Akari were just students, but his hunger proved stronger than his anxiety.
A small rumbling could be heard, to which Akari started to giggle incessantly because it was something quite unusual for Takei.
"If you're that hungry, you're definitely in the right spot, Mr. Boyfriend!"
The burly man at the counter roared with laughter after he and the other patrons had heard Takei's stomach rumble.
"Ahaha..."
Takei awkwardly laughed since he had made a fool of himself in front of the entire restaurant.
To counter the growing shame rising inside of Takei, Akari placed her hand over his hand and sweetly smiled at him.
"I like hungry boys though?"
"..."
Well, she countered the rising shame with a sense of embarrassment due to the nature of her teasing.
The red tinge on Takei's face would end up lasting until their food got to the table.
When the gigantic bowls of ramen were placed down, both Takei and Akari could only stare in amazement.
The picture in the menu did not do the size of the ramen justice, it was ginormous to say the least.
Wiping the drool off his mouth, Takei was ready to attack this massive bowl of ramen.
Similar to her other half, Akari had the eyes of a predator about to enjoy a hearty meal.

As they simultaneously gave their thanks for the food, both of them dug into the food with an expectant smile on their faces.
A hot yet flavorful liquid entered their mouths with a bundle of tender and soft noodles that had been soaking in the broth for a decent amount of time.
Even though it was still relatively too hot to safely eat, neither of them complained and kept on attacking the ramen bowl.
"Phenomenal..."
"Spectacular..."
In-between chewing, Takei and Akari managed to let out a compliment to the chef before they continued their assault.
Hearing their compliment, the burly man loudly laughed and happily pounded his chest.
"If you want some more, just tell me. I'll be here all night!"
Once the man let them know that a second portion was an option, their future was already set in stone.

On a cold, chilly night, a very sluggish pair of people dragged their bodies home.
They weren't drunk or doing anything irresponsible that a pair of high schoolers shouldn't be doing, they were just incredibly full from eating multiple bowls of ramen.
"I only managed four bowls... Akari, you have a monstrous stomach..."
"Isn't that rude?! I only had six bowls..."
"Only?"

When Takei specified that Akari had eaten a whole two more bowls than him, she had nothing to defend herself with.
Since the both of them were too full to do anything, Takei proposed that they go to his house and watch a movie before heading to bed.
Akari agreed and asked permission from her parents to stay the night, to which they readily agreed.
In reality, Akari didn't need to ask them for permission because they knew of Takei's strong character and his kind family.
However, Akari just wanted to be sure and not neglect her parents of the joys of parenthood.
With her parent's approval, she followed Takei all the way to his house and plopped down on his bed with an exaggerated oomph.
"I can't move anything..."
Takei similarly did the same and laid down next to her.
He then reached out to grab the TV remote that was laying on his desk and turned on the TV to some action movie that was playing at the current moment.
They laid in bed for about half an hour and just mindlessly stared at the TV, until Akari broke the silence by asking him a question.
"I just realized that I never asked you this, but... what are you planning to do after high school?"
Inside his head, Takei also realized that he had never discussed the future thoroughly with Akari.
"I was thinking of getting a remote job in the tech industry, it pays good and I can work from home!"
Takei excitedly explained his reasoning for why he wanted to pick that career path, which earned him a deadpan expression on Akari's face.
"Why did I expect that reasoning from you..."
Akari sighed and then tried her best to stifle a giggle.
At this point, she knew him so well that the answer he had given was already known in her head beforehand.
Seeing Akari happily laughing, Takei decided to ask about her career path.
"How about you? Being a model or a chef, or really anything could work out for you."
Due to Akari's assortment of skills and unparalleled beauty, she had limitless opportunities for jobs.
However, she had an idea that was outside of Takei's expectations.
"Hm? None of those jobs would really suit me though. I wouldn't want to choose any of those either. Although, I do have a job in mind..."

"Being a housewife."
In response to Akari's dream job, Takei could only look away and avert his gaze due to the growing embarrassment within him.
He imagined in his head a scenario where he would come home from a long day of work to be greeted by Akari in an apron saying the magic words.
"Would you like to have a shower? Dinner first? Or would you want to... have... me?"
