#7

<You’re done. You can stand up.>

His mind that was about to sleep woke up in an instant

So-Won, who is getting drowsy due to Tae-Woo’s warm body temperature, jumps up when the researcher’s voice came out of the speaker.

Surprised, the bed made a pitiful sound.

So-Won was perplexed.

He was shaking without even being able to hold Tae-Woo’s hand until recently, but after he passed out, So-Won fell on Tae-Woo’s body and listened to his heartbeat, smelling him like a pervert.

So-Won felt strange for finding stability in Tae-Woo’s arms.

So-Won felt as if he had been possessed.

“Guide Lee So-won, you’re late to say hello. I’m Esper Kang Tae-Woo’s doctor.”

The doctor in charge enters the Guiding room and greets So-Won by asking for a handshake.

So-Won held the hand that reached out to him in a daze.

The hand that is caught facing each other shook lightly a couple of times.

No wonder his face looked familiar. So-Won felt like he had seen the doctor’s face a few times during his time as Tae-Woo’s Guide for 8 years.

“What happened to the matching rate?”

So-Won asked the question that he had endured.

‘It would have gone down to 65 percent again. To add a little bit of greed, it would not be bad to increase the matching rate to help Tae-Woo. However, I have never heard of the set matching rate has changing.’ So-Won thought.

The doctor in charge smiled coolly when he heard So-Won’s question.

“It’s 100%.” The doctor said.

“What?” So-Won asked back with his eyes wide open as if he had misheard the doctor.

The doctor in charge gave a warm print that was freshly picked to So-Won.

                                 *Guiding Inspection Results Report*

“Esper Kang Tae-woo, Guide Lee So-won, and a matching rate of 100.000%. “

So-Won, who read the document and saw the number, was shocked.

So-Won even slowly looked up and down through the documents, perhaps because he read it wrong.

It’s true that he wanted it to go up a little, but he didn’t want it to go up this much. So-Won was taken aback.

Come to think of it, it seemed a little different from usual when he was guiding Tae-Woo. The repercussions seemed to have been felt in more detail, and the amount that came in seemed to have been large. Now that he think about it, the reason why Tae-Woo fainted seemed to have something to do with the increased matching rate. However, the reason for the increase in the matching rate was unknown, no matter how much he thought about it.

“There’s no harm in having a high matching rate. It’s a great thing for Esper Kang Tae-Woo and it’s good for Guide Lee So-Won. Maybe…”

The doctor said with a smile, swallowing the end.

The doctor in charge did not lie.

Clearly, good things were also true for Guide Lee So-Won.

Since the matching rate with an S-class Esper was so high, even if he is an A-class Guide, he could be treated as an S-class guide.

Plus global attention.

However, this is only a story that could happen if So-Won can endure the monster Kang Tae-Woo.

So-Won, who seemed to be thinking for a while, said,

“Is that so…” So-Won mutters.

The doctor in charge nodded vigorously.

Even after receiving a definite answer, So-Won looks puzzled.

Still unable to wake up, Tae-Woo is taken to his private room, and So-Won is directed to the Guide register.

So-Won pulled out a number ticket, waited for a while, and looked down at the documents in his hand.

After submitting this report and signing the Guide agreement, So-Won must now live as Tae-Woo’s guide for the rest of his life.

‘I regretted his death and suffered from guilt, but when this moment approached, I wanted to run away. If I run away now, I might put off being his Guide even a little bit.’ So-Won thought.

It was the voice calling for his number tag that woke up the hesitating So-Won.

So-Won did not move.

So-Won’s heart began to beat like a child who committed a mistake and was caught red-handed.

The employee calls the number of So-Won again.

Only then did So-Won rise from his seat calmly as if he had not heard his number being called.

This is because Tae-Woo’s voice sounded like a hallucination.

So-Won went to the desk and held out the paper that the doctor in charge had given him.

The employee who received the document with a smile checked Kang Tae-Woo’s name and the number of 100% matching rate, and his expression was briefly disorganized.

However, he soon returned to his original expression and presented a consent form so So-Won could write his personal information.

So-Won silently filled in the blanks one by one.

When So-Won was informed here that his Esper is Kang Tae-Woo, he couldn’t accept reality and went on a rampage. It was not until he met Tae-Woo after signing the document half-forcedly that he found it more terrible than he thought. When he remembered that time, he was a little embarrassed and felt sorry for himself.

So-Won is lost in thought, recalling the past.

When So-Won handed over the consent form that was already filled, the employee checked the contents and opened his mouth.

“A-class Guide Lee So-Won has a 100% matching rate with S-class Esper Kang Tae-Woo. As Kang Tae-woo currently does not have a Guide and the matching rate is higher according to the guide obligation system. Until the guide appears, we need to provide a guide to Kang Tae-Woo.“

The employee spoke according to the manual and looked at So-Won from time to time.

“Under the Guide Mandatory, Guides who match Esper above Grade A must live with Esper and provide guidance. You can agree to each other’s accommodation, and you can use the safe house provided by the state. Other than that, you can read the Guide’s mandatory guidebook and follow it.” The employee continued.

Together…

It’s a house So-Won got used to after living in it for 8 years, but he still didn’t feel very happy to go back to the place where he only has bad memories, though it can’t be helped.

It was also an obligation, and it was better to be able to meet Tae-Woo easily if So-Won wanted to guide him often. Tae-Woo didn’t even come home alot anyway.

There is also an option of the safe house, but So-Won hated it because CCTV was installed everywhere.

If it is in the past, he will choose a safe house until it is automatically decided as the house of the Guide and the Esper.

They should be live together as soon as possible, but So-Won was going to move his luggage faster than a month.

‘I didn’t want to go back to the house, but I wanted to go back to see him. If I go back there, I feel like Tae-Woo’s death never happened’ So-Won thought

The employee handed over the last documents.

It was a consent form to become a dedicated Guide for Esper Kang Tae-Woo.

So-Won wrote his name in the signature column without hesitation.

Now, So-Won has officially become Kang Tae-Woo’s Guide.

So-Won felt bitter and relieved.

After meeting Tae-Woo eight years ago this is the first time he felt lighthearted for some reason. Seeing him alive, breathing, and warm, everything in the past seemed like a dream.

However, the scenery of the operating room is still vivid for So-Won every time he closes his eyes.

It would be nice if it was a dream and this was real.

So-Won rested for a while in an empty chair in the lobby of the Esper Association, which he saw when he came in.

When So-Won felt that he had finished all his work, the tension that had been driven was relieved at once, and his body was drained.

‘I regretted being his Guide again, but I didn’t regret it. It was a vague feeling. I remembered Tae-Woo who would be somewhere in the same building. He will be happy in this life. Getting a guide, becoming a person.’ So-Won thought.

“Son, did the test result come out already?”  So-Won’s mother asked.

So-Won trembled.

As soon as So-Won got home, his mother welcomed him in a different voice than usual.

The cause of the trouble was that So-Won hurried out of their house in the morning and said he would go quickly because the test results came out.

Even So-Won’s father, who had to go to work, was smiling on the sofa in the living room.

So-Won was in big trouble, how should he say who his esper is while his parents are looking at him with a bright face?

So-Won’s parents also knew how terrible Kang Tae-Woo was.

He is one of the three S-levels in Korea, and a monster who gained terrible side effects because he had not been guided for too long.

It was clear that his parents would cry when they heard that So-Won was matched with Kang Tae-Woo.

However, lying or slurring was not in accordance with So-Won.

Even if So-Won hurried to tell a lie, his parents would soon find something strange.

So-Won opened his mouth, looking around.

“I matched with Esper Kang Tae-Woo.”

So-Won’s mother, who was trying to prepare a cool drink for her son, an A-class guide who would have wandered outside in the hot weather, dropped the cup.

Surprised by the sharp sound, So-Won looked at his mother in a hurry.

Fortunately, the cup did not break, so there seemed to be no injury.

She just looked astonished.

“What? How can an S-class Esper match with an A-class guide? Did the Esper Association go crazy?” So-Won’s mother asked.

“No, the matching rate was very high. It’s certain.” So-Won closed his mouth while trying to say how high the matching rate was.

It was clear that if So-Won told his parents an unrealistic number, they would not believe that, and they’ll think that the machine was broken.

Naturally, So-Won’s parents strongly opposed So-Won becoming Kang Tae-Woo’s Guide.

It was quite different from the day when they had a party to celebrate the awakening of the A-class Guide, Lee So-Won, with a smile.

It was hard for So-Won to look at his parents who were so upset and angry.

“I have already submitted an agreement to become a dedicated Guide for Kang Tae-Woo. I don’t plan on breaking that”

So-Won said calmly, looking at his parents.
