Leah had never imagined that her son, whom she had loved and treasured all of his life, would speak to her in this disrespectful manner because of a woman. She immediately trembled with anger and demanded, "You bastard, how dare you speak to me so rudely? I'm your mother!"

At the same time, Carlos immediately realized that he had sinned and had stepped over the line. However, he was also determined to defend and support Nora in this matter.

Noticing that the atmosphere was rather tense, and that it was all because of her that the fight had started, Cherish was overcome with guilt. So, she tried to diffuse the tense situation. "Auntie, don't misunderstand Carlos. He didn't mean to offend you."

After a pause, she continued, "Since we still need to nurture our new relationship, I think it's better for us to just hang out together. What do you think, Auntie?"

Cherish was always gentle and considerate of other people's feelings. Her tender voice even softened Leah's hardened heart. She was also a woman, so she really felt sorry for this obedient girl. She couldn't refuse Cherish's calm proposal, so she nodded and agreed, "Okay, okay. Of course. Couples should go out and experience new things together. You'll get to know each other better once you've experienced more things together."

Then she patted Cherish's hand and cast a last angry glance at Carlos. "What are you still waiting for? Do you want Cherish to wait here for you forever? Go now and get yourself ready!"

Although Carlos was reluctant to socialize with Cherish, he had no other choice but to go upstairs and make himself presentable. After all, he shouldn't have spoken so disrespectfully to his mother just now. He felt guilty and didn't know how to make amends. Cherish had offered him a perfect excuse to help him out.

Besides, if he refused this time, his conflict with his mom would only escalate. Going out with Cherish would help him avoid another terrible situation.

So half an hour later, Carlos drove out of the villa with Cherish seated in the passenger seat.

The atmosphere in the car was quiet enough to hear a pin drop. Finally, Cherish spoke first. "Go to Nora's house. Just leave me at the cafe below her apartment."

"What?" After hearing this, Carlos

"Well, that's enough. You can do whatever you want, and you certainly don't need to help me." Turning away to look out through the window, she said, "Anyway, you're free as a bird now. Go wherever you want, but I don't want to spend any more time with you."

She spat those words in rage and looked away, without giving Carlos another glance.

Glancing at Cherish, who was fuming and in a huff, Carlos couldn't help but burst into a grin. He hadn't expected that this little girl could lose her temper. He wasn't annoyed by her outburst at all; instead, he felt that Cherish was very cute.

Finally, the car stopped outside Nora's apartment. Cherish got out of the car without looking at Carlos. "Once you have finished meeting Nora, come find me in the cafe. After all, I just don't want you to have more conflict with your mother because of me."

Then she walked away with her back resolutely turned on Carlos. He looked at her receding figure, and he suddenly said, "I'll keep an eye out for anything in line with your suspicions."

Although Carlos had decided to trust Nora, it did not mean that his doubts had been completely dispelled. It also didn't mean that he would turn a deaf ear to other people.

Although he wouldn't pursue an investigation into Nora so proactively, he would still keep an eye out for anything unusual.

Cherish didn't look back. But when she heard what Carlos had said, she couldn't help feeling overjoyed.

It seemed that she still held some sway over his heart.
