When Nora opened the door and saw Carlos, she was utterly surprised. She couldn't believe her own eyes, and she rubbed them to make sure that she wasn't hallucinating. The man in front of her was really Carlos!

She immediately flung herself into Carlos's arms and asked in an excited tone, "Didn't you say that you wouldn't be able to come here for a while? How did you get here all of a sudden?"

Her sweet voice was soothing in Carlos's ears. If their meeting had happened in the past, he would have hugged her more tightly in return. But now, given everything that had happened, the thrill no longer filled his heart at all. He gently pushed Nora away from him and smiled faintly as he said, "Yes... But I was only just now allowed to go out, so I came here to see you at once."

Nora's expression changed instantly when she was pushed away. Resentment flashed in her eyes, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. She donned an aggrieved expression and pulled at Carlos's sleeves, complaining, "Carlos… What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he said curtly. Carlos then walked into the room. Somehow, he felt that his emotions had become very strange when he was faced with Nora now. He smiled to cover the awkwardness and said, "I just missed your cooking so much. I haven't had a delicious meal for a long time. I'm so hungry!"

Hearing this, Nora smiled and exclaimed, "Really? Was my food really so delicious?"

In fact, Nora seldom cooked for herself, and she would only come up with ideas to cook when Carlos was with her. In fact, she didn't think he even liked her cooking at all, and she thought that it was not at all delicious, but Carlos always polished his plate when she cooked to make her happy.

She knew that a man like Carlos, who came from a rich family, must have savored many different cuisines. But every time he ate something she had prepared, he would always compliment her. Because of his encouragement, she would always feel happy and accomplished.

"Of course, I love your cooking," Carlos stated with a nod.

Soon, Nora went into the kitchen. Carlos offered to help her, but she refused. She pressed him to sit on the sofa, squatting on the padded arm of the sofa like a contented kitten as she said, "You just sit here, rest and wait for some delicious food!"

Then, she gleefully rushed into the kitchen immediately. When Carlos couldn't see her, she peeped around the cor

"No, Mom. Please just call me if she shows up there."

Before Leah could respond, he hung up the phone. Next, he called Perrin, asking, "Perrin, is Cherish at home?"

When Perrin received the phone call, he was also somewhat confused. "She went out earlier this afternoon–to your house, I believe. So shouldn't she be at your house now?"

Carlos was becoming even more worried and nervous. Lacking the courage to tell Perrin the truth, Carlos answered reluctantly, "We went out together this afternoon. She said she would wait for me at a cafe, but when I got there, she had already left. I can't get a hold of her on the phone."

"What?! What did you say?" Perrin spilled out of his chair in surprise. "You mean to say that Cherish is missing? How could you leave her alone in a cafe? Don't you know how dangerous it is outside?"

Carlos had no means to defend himself against Perrin's accusations. It was his fault, after all. He deserved all the blame, and Cherish was missing because of him.

Hearing Carlos repeatedly apologize, Perrin finally forced his rage under control. "Cherish lacks all sense of direction. She can't even find her way back home when she is alone in a place. We have to find her immediately! Because of her aimless wanderings, I had a GPS installed on her phone, in case of a situation like this. I'll send her location to you as soon as I have tracked her down. Be sure to find her as soon as possible!"

After hearing this, Carlos felt a little more hopeful. He could only hope that Cherish had left because she wanted to take a walk, and that she was all right.
