"Watch out!" Carlos called out. His warning was unnecessary as Jacob had already reacted to the kick. He balanced himself steadily with his right leg and swiftly raised his left leg to counter-kick Darren. His movements were as fast as lightning.

Seeing Jacob's hesitation, Darren jumped at the opportunity and fiercely launched a counter attack. He tightly held onto Carlos with one hand and attacked Jacob with his other hand. He also managed to kick Jacob hard while using Carlos as a human shield.
Every time Jacob was about to hit back, Darren would sneakily push Carlos between them. This effectively left Jacob with no way to fight against Darren, who was now winning.
Carlos struggled hard to break out of Darren's grip but all his efforts went in vain. Eventually he cried out, "Jacob, don't worry about me. The most important thing is to catch Darren right now! Hit him hard!"

Jacob's eyebrows knitted together with concentration. He seemed to be worrying about something. With Carlos in the way, he could make no aggressive move towards Darren.

Without further hesitation, Jacob pushed Carlos away from them and charged straight at Darren. He couldn't afford to waste any more time in this fight.

Standing not far away from them, Carlos was gasping for breath. When he regained some of his strength, he joined the battle too. Using tacit cooperation with Jacob, he took Darren by surprise.
