Emily walked out of the consultation room in a daze. Once she was out of the room, she noticed Tyron at the end of the corridor. She immediately turned around and walked the other way in an attempt not to meet him.

However, Tyron saw her and rushed towards her to get her attention. "Emily!"

Emily was still agitated and didn't want to talk to him at all. She cast an indifferent glance at him and was about to walk out but she was surprised to find his arm wrapped in a bandage. She was startled as she noticed the bloodstains on the bandage.

She immediately forgot her despise for him when she saw Tyron's pitiful appearance. "You're hurt! What happened to you?" Her voice was full of concern.

Emily was sure that Tyron was fine the day before. She wondered what terrible things might have happened to him in the past day that caused him to end up with an injured arm.

Tyron looked at her with serious eyes. His mouth was about to open, but his voice faltered as he decided to stay silent instead.

Emily looked at Tyron's actions and tried to make a guess. She bit her delicate rosy lips and asked hesitantly, "Did you get hurt because of me?"

"No…" Tyron immediately denied it. He looked away and avoided Emily's gaze. It was very obvious that his answer was a lie. "Don't worry too much about it. You have nothing to do with my injury. I got hurt by accident because I was careless."

Emily did not believe Tyron's words. "Tell me the truth. How did you get that injury?" Her eyes were serious and her voice had a strong tone.

"Emily…"

"If you're not going to tell me the truth, then I will just leave at once!"

Emily's threat revealed that her concern for Tyron was true. Tyron tried his best to repress his smirk as his plan unfolded. He only pretended to be considerate of Emily so that he could win her sympathy. When he realized that he had achieved his goal, he twisted his upper lip and replied, "It really has nothing to do with you. It's just Jacob…"

"Jacob? Jacob did that to you? Why would he do something like that?" Emily couldn't help but widen her eyes in disbelief. She had her suspicions that Jacob might have been involved in the incident, but she was still shocked when she heard Tyron's confession.

Tyron forced a bitter smile and said, "I've been wondering when and where I might have offended Jacob. He made it very clear that he hates me. Can you please ask him why he did this to me when you've returned home? I want to visit him and apologize to him if I ever wronged him. Please, Emily, I don't want to die. I don't want to be afraid for my life every time I get outside."

Emily's heart sank as she recalled Jacob's threat that he would tear Tyron limb from limb.

Tyron was in no mood to withhold the truth. He said directly, "This morning when I went out of my house and was on my way to the hospital, a car came straight fast to me. If I hadn't reacted quickly and dodged in time to avoid the speeding car, I would have died.

Jacob felt happy that she came to see him on her own initiative.

"Emily, you are here."

As soon as he saw Emily, Jacob's face brightened up even more. He picked up Emily, bowed his head and planted a kiss on her delicate face. "You being here is such a delight! The last time you were here was a very long time ago. You must have missed me so much and came to see me, right?"

Emily kept a straight face and pushed him aside. She ignored Jacob's upbeat attitude and asked without hesitation, "Jacob, I have something to ask you. Did you ask someone to hurt Tyron? Answer me."

A gleam of guilt flickered across his eyes. He straightened himself, avoided her stare and replied in a callous tone, "What happened to him? I don't know what you're talking about."

"You must know that!" Emily's tone was a mix of anger and guilt. Her eyes reflected her disappointment. "You've done such a horrible thing, and you don't even have the decency to admit it! How could you do something like that?"

Jacob realized that she had known the truth and guessed that Tyron was the one who told her what he had done. Jacob clenched his teeth and wished that Tyron had been killed in the car accident in the morning. But it was just a wish. Now, he had to soothe Emily's anger.

"I just wanted to teach him a lesson," he explained.

Emily did not believe his words. "A lesson? Are you kidding me? Tyron's arm was badly injured. If he hadn't dodged in time, he would have been killed by the car. You just attempted to murder him!"

Jacob felt extremely uncomfortable about her inquisitive attitude. He faced Emily with jealous eyes. "Emily, why are you so upset about this? Are you really on his side?"

"I don't mean that. But this time you've made a big mistake! You are overacting on something very petty!" she exclaimed.

"Petty? I don't think I've done anything wrong! No man in this world can tolerate his wife calling another man's name when she's dreaming. How can I put up with it?"
