Zong Jiu felt that Zhuge An was extremely useful.

Since there was a military strategist, it was naturally impossible to leave them unused. You didn’t feel much before using, but the use was startling.

Zhuge An and he conspired and made a careful plan.

They couldn’t be certain whether the Devil was in the room, let alone whether the red rose would be on him. So to be on the safe side, Zong Jiu planned to bait out No. 1 first, then sneak into his room, wait for the right time to contact Zhuge An, and catch the other side by surprise.

If No. 1 went to the appointment, Zhuge An would stay at the bar to help delay the Devil. Zong Jiu could come to his room to search. Even if he couldn’t find the rose, he could still plant a few tricks.

Zhuge An gave him a dozen magical D-rank space pockets. As long as the space pocket was attached to the pocket of the Devil’s suit, Zong Jiu would be able to secretly take the rose.

If No. 1 didn’t go to the appointment, then it would mostly depend on luck.

Zong Jiu was very likely to be caught.

Now it was time to bring out the miracle investigator Zhuge An. After all, divination wasn’t the strength of Tarot cards, but the strength of the Taiji Eight Trigrams.

So Zhuge An told him to go in at around 11:50 to get an unexpected surprise.

This No. 3 was very knowledgeable. Although he was arrogant most times, he also knew that after allegiance and surrender, he needed to show his value to the lord. So he worked extra hard on this plan and almost did it all by himself. Zong Jiu, who had never been treated like this by Zhuge An, was surprised and flattered.

Now it seemed that the surprise that Zhuge An said should be the one in front of him.

Of course, people couldn’t wear clothes when they wash up. Even No. 1, who always carried the rose, couldn’t bring the flower to the bathroom.

AD

Now was the perfect time!

In the dark, Zong Jiu stared at the rose and took every step with care, trying not to make any sound.

This time Zhuge An and his preparation was without a crack, even taking this into consideration.

But this room was so big that it was difficult to see the end. All you could see was all kinds of strange furniture lying on the ground like silent beasts.

The sound of the water continued and became clearer as he approached.

Not far in front of him, the rose was still blooming quietly.

Somewhere in the distance beyond vision, moonlight flowed down from a window, the water refracting it onto the heavy carpet, becoming the only light source in this dull darkness. Before, it was blocked by a tall wine cabinet so there was no trace of it. Only walking closer did it become visible.

When he reached the end of the wine cabinet, Zong Jiu suddenly stopped.

Because of the clear sound of the water, he realized something was wrong.

There was no bathroom, let alone a shower, it was the sound of an open bath.

If he hadn’t noticed this, he would have been caught just as he stepped out.

Zong Jiu stared at the moonlit floor between the wine cabinet and the bed, lost in thought.

No matter how powerful Zhuge An was, he didn’t expect this.

So, how to cross this section of ground without causing No. 1’s notice?

A person got up from the icy pool, as if his body temperature was like the never melting snow on the top of the mountain.

The man’s half-long black hair was uncommonly down, and the wet tips brushed his shoulders. Water trickled down perfectly shaped abdominal muscles, flowing down the gully of the mermaid lines around the abdomen, rolling to the calf, and penetrating deeply into the carpet.

A glass containing red wine was placed on a platinum tray and the moonlight plated the clear scarlet inside with a layer of bright silver. It also illuminated the scars behind him, like a piece of art that did not hide its flaws.

The Devil picked up the bathrobe on the side, tied it loosely, and stepped over the edge of the pool wall.

He squinted slightly, staring at the cold lines of the wine cabinet in the dark, suddenly curved the corners of his mouth, and walked straight towards the door.

Tap tap tap.

The sound of footsteps approached like a seasoned hunter teasing his prey. Every step hit upon another’s heart and brought a sense of extreme tension.

Zong Jiu squatted behind the wine cabinet, eyebrows furrowed.

He was seriously considering his chances of being able to grab the rose if he just charged up.

Previously, the more anxious he was, the calmer he became. Even if it was an internationally broadcasted magic show, it wouldn’t make Zong Jiu nervous.

It was just that going up against No. 1, Zong Jiu felt that his competitive spirit was awakened to the max, and his mind was full of how to screw over the other.

In a sense, Gui Guzi’s prediction was not wrong at all. Their feud was irreconcilable, their fate was destined.

After thinking for so long, Zong Jiu found that he was now in a dilemma.

Going forward meant he would likely be stopped by the puppet string as soon as he ran out, but the same was true for retreating. He could only wait and see.

The black shadow slowly elongated on the carpet, slowly opening its fangs.

Creak.

There was a sound of the wine cabinet opening above.

The Devil was calmly humming a song, and there seemed to be a deep pool of light in the dark golden pupils.

Taking advantage of this singing, Zong Jiu continued to shrink into the shadows.

Anyway, unless No. 1 caught him, he already made up his mind to not come out, just wait and see who was better at dawdling.

The fragrance of the wine effused through the air, and anyone who knew wine would know that this was of the highest quality.

“It’s a pity, I don’t have time to sober up.” The deep voice seemed to be talking to himself.

Immediately afterwards, the cold wine pushed apart the air and poured into the glass.

The wine glass was lifted and the shadow expanded until it stopped on the ground not far from Zong Jiu’s hiding place.

The white-haired young man’s fingers were already pressed against the cards and his pink eyes were staring at the shadows on the ground.

If there was a move, regardless of whether he could fight or not, he was ready to strike first. He refused to go down for nothing.

The atmosphere was extremely tense.

At this moment, there was a knock on the heavy door in the distance.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

The cold voice of the system sounded in the air.

[No. 3 would like to meet you urgently]

The Devil half-smile, “What’s the urgency?”

[The other party prefers to say face-to-face]

[Reading another unread message: B-rank trainee Zong Jiu invites you to meet at the open-air bar in five minutes]

“Oh?”

The man’s eyes became more interested.

He seemed to glance at the shadow behind the wine cabinet unintentionally and regretfully put the newly poured wine glass back on the wine cabinet, “Then please excuse me for a while.

“See you around.”

…

After the door to the room was closed again, Zong Jiu stayed silent under the wine cabinet for half a minute before he crawled out of the shadows.

It was eleven fifty-seven now, and there were still three minutes before when he and the Devil were to meet.

Zhuge An’s assist was godly! It was too reliable!

Thinking of the vague figure he saw at the bar before, Zong Jiu finally felt that it was pretty good to have a dog-headed military tactician.

At least in various emergencies and when the lord accidentally dropped the ball, a smart military advisor could adapt to and understand the situation, coming up with a perfect countermeasure.

For Zong Jiu, this was simply the best possible outcome.

Because of the rush to get out of the bath, No. 1 did not put on the formal clothes he eternally wore. The rose was still on the hanger where it was supposed to be.

Zong Jiu walked over quickly, through the cold moonlight, and pulled it out of his suit pocket.

The rose was still the same as the last time he received it. The petals quietly bloomed in the air, as if it had been artificially preserved in its most beautiful state.

However, Zong Jiu did not have an artistic personality that appreciated it.

After he got it, he chose to submit the task directly to the main system without taking a second look.

[B-rank trainee Zong Jiu has completed the order and received a reward: Blind Box Draw X1]

Now the big stone weighing Zong Jiu’s heart had fallen.

What a farce. He hadn’t lived enough yet, how could he feel good when he was suddenly ordered to do something within three days or perish?

“But…”

Although the matter was resolved perfectly, he was still a little unwilling.

The white-haired young man stood there and touched his chin.

This order was created by the Devil puppeteering the Messiah. Although No. 1 probably didn’t know that Zong Jiu had already seen through this, it didn’t prevent him from taking revenge.

Zong Jiu’s life principle was to seek vengeance without delay.

When the doctor played by No. 1 dared to electrocute him, he dared to give him a hammer. When Grandma Yin dared to sell him, he dared to burn and scatter her ashes.

As for now-

Zong Jiu’s eyes swept around the clothes hanging on the hanger in consideration.

He smiled, took out a pair of large scissors from the Strange Black Box, ran to the closet in the room and snipped every one of the dozen neatly arranged suits with scissors, watching the high-end fabrics fall apart.

In the end, Zong Jiu also scooped up the suit that No. 1 hung on the bedside.

Although No. 1 can have the system deliver a set of clothes to the door, as long as he was a little upset, Zong Jiu was happy.

Zong Jiu even thought that he could consult Zhuge An to see if there was a way to use this as a medium to make the original owner unlucky.

He remembered that some witchcraft in Southeast Asia could perform rituals like that. Although the effect was not as good as hair, as long as it could be done, Zong Jiu was happy to work for No. 1.

After doing all this, Zong Jiu turned a corner and walked deeper into the room instead.

To be on the safe side, he didn’t plan to leave from the main entrance.

Zhuge An finally created the conditions for him, Zong Jiu wouldn’t send himself off so easily.

So he chose to walk into the elevator that came with every S-rank dormitory.

The luxurious configuration of the S-rank dormitory was simply beyond imagination. It had everything you could imagine. The elevator was also personal and not shared with other trainees.

After finishing this big move, Zong Jiu hummed happily and went back to his room.

When he thought of the scene of the Devil’s expression when he came back, Zong Jiu’s mood went straight up.

—Until he closed the door of his room and turned around to see the half-smiling face of No. 1 in the dark.
