"Bitch"

This single word was mouthed by Mae Blaise as she leered at the youngest girl at this table but no one could hear her crude language as she had been careful to not let any sound out.

However, Yvonne was watching her ever since she caught the other person glaring at her, and hence it was easy for her to grasp what was just said.

She had been called similar names numerous times in her previous world for her cold and indifferent verdicts on the talent show she judged.

She was used to facing hostility on the social media sites as not many liked her way of doing things but she had never bothered about it as their opinions did not matter to her.

While Yvonne's demeanor was still the same, this was the very first time she had faced this type of hostility after entering this world.

No one had used such words to her or even in her presence as they were considered to be uncultured behavior according to their noble etiquette.

Therefore, more than being offended, Yvonne was surprised to witness this unthinkable incident happening to her.

Mae Blaise knew that she should not have revealed her true feelings before the other girl but had done so due to her lack of self-control.

However, she soon came back to her senses and averted her gaze in the next moment.

Since she had disliked this girl for a long time now, she did not care if she knew about it.

Instead of fretting about what she had done, she felt light as though a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

Thus with a pleasant smile on her face which signified her satisfaction for what she had achieved, she focused her attention on Miss Glennise Brodie without wasting any further time on that other girl.

On the other side of the table, Yvonne was still frozen in surprise at what she had just witnessed.

'Did I just get cursed out for nothing at all!?' She was baffled by this ridiculous turn of events.

She had often sensed that Mae Blaise did not like her too much but this was on a whole different level from simple dislike.

This was outright hostility and hatred being directed at her with no proper reason to validate such feelings being present in the first place.

'Did Yvonne mess with her before I took over this body?' She pondered if this might be the reason why she had no clue why she was being cursed.

Until now, she had no memories of the original Yvonne whose body that Bird God had tossed her inside.

From what she had learned until now, the original Yvonne had a bad relationship with her elder brother, the only person she tormented all day long.

However, she had never heard anything about being on bad terms with Mae Blaise and no one had ever hinted towards the same.

This made her confirm that even the true owner of this body had no reason to have a conflict with Mae.

Therefore, she furrowed her brows once she regained her senses after what she had just witnessed.

'Looks like Earl Blaise needs to do a better job at educating his child.' She sneered at the girl who was no longer looking her way.

She did not wish to retaliate just yet as there would be many opportunities to do so in the future.

Thus she too turned away, trying to figure out what she had missed in the short while that she had been distracted.

___

A few moments ago, while Yvonne and Mae were still locked in a silent confrontation, the attention of all the girls fell onto Glennise Brodie, the only daughter among the two Ducal families.

She had the highest position among all the noble ladies after the Princess and thus it was obvious who the person she liked was.

In their Kingdom, it was common sense for girls to marry above their station and the same could be said for Glennise who had come to like Prince Fritzen in the past years that she had been visiting the Palace as the Princess's playmate.

Princess Felicia had already known for a while that her best friend seemed to blush whenever her elder brother arrived to visit them.

However, it was also clear to her that her elder brother was oblivious about this matter as he treated Glennise with respect and did not look at her much after greeting her in the beginning.

He would speak to his sister then leave once he was done.

Princess Felicia would often shake her head at her brother who ignored Glennise and left without looking her way.

However, it was not appropriate for her to interfere and hence she pretended to be ignorant of what was on her best friend's mind.

Even Rika had noticed the same but they had to keep their thoughts to themselves as they waited for the day when Glennise was ready to reveal what was in her heart.

Thus the two noble girls were curious and excited, wondering if today was the day when their best friend would reveal the truth.

"I'm not sure yet." Glennise's declaration ruined their excitement and dispersed their anticipation for what she might say.

Glancing at her two close friends, Glennise shook her head as she knew what they were waiting for.

However, even if she was willing to reveal the name of the one she liked, she would never do it before so many people.

This confession was related to her life so why would she open her heart in the presence of people she did not know too well?

Thus Glennise did not reveal what was in her heart as she was not comfortable in doing so right now.

Princess Felicia did not insist and Rika only smiled in acceptance of this answer as there was nothing much they could do about it.

"Who does Princess like?" Melissa chimed in once again after realizing that everyone else had already answered.

Moana and Martha were glaring at their eldest sister who was being too bold today, even daring to question the Princess but Melissa did not think that she had done anything wrong.

She only smiled at the Princess who did not appear to be offended by her which only caused her smile to widen further.

The girls did not have the opportunity to discuss the answer given by Glennise Brodie who had been silent the entire time today as their attention was quickly diverted towards the Princess.

"Of course, it should be someone who has a high status." Elna pointed out, declaring that the Princess could never like anyone from a lower noble family.

The Princess was of the highest status and since there was no one on an equal or higher level than her, she would have to marry someone who was immediately below her status.

For example, either one of the two sons of Duke Tanner would be an appropriate choice for Princess Felicia, the apple of the King's eye.

When Elna had made her thoughts known, she smirked while looking at Aleena.

She believed that the other girl still liked the heir of the Tanner family and had only mentioned the twins of a nameless low noble family to divert their attention from the truth.

However, what she did not know was that Aleena truly was infatuated with the good looks the Valente twins possessed.

She had not focused her attention on Topher during the parties they had attended but was sneaking silent peeks at Roman and Knox.

She had seen them for the first time yet could not avert her eyes, finding them to be better looking and considerate when compared to Topher who only had a stiff look on his face at all times.

Thus Aleena, who had understood the meaning hidden behind Elna's statement did not react as she was already aware of this matter.

Sadly, the same could not be said for Silvia who clenched her gown when she realized that there was a high chance Princess Felicia would marry the one she liked in the future.

Since everyone was focusing on the Princess, no one had seen the sadness on her face which even Yvonne had missed this time as she too was lost in thought about a different memory that came to her mind.
