The Crown Prince lunged forward, releasing a blast of fire aspectual qi at the target of clear living stone he had just purchased from a naive trader. The Prince would have killed him for it but the man claimed to be able to access more.

The Living stone accepted the qi and grew outwards. Feeding on the Qi rich attack. The stone also change in colour from clear to a slight pink hue. The prince knew that once the stone changed to fully pink he would have to subdivide it to make two clear living stone targets.

“Marvellous my Prince,” said an old man that was watching from the side. The old man clapped in an over enthusiastic fashion.

The Prince grunted, “I am not one of your pleasure slaves Yang Guo. You do not need to warm me up with inane compliments. What do you want?”

Yang Guo grit his teeth and said, “Yang Shan returned last night. He returned crippled and floating down river in a dingy. He was essentially insensate, but he did manage to get out through a broken jaw that the Princess did it to him. I am here to ask for justice from the royal Clan.”

The Prince seemed mildly shocked but still spoke with a dismissive tone, “while that is unfortunate Yang Shan went to the interior to seek satisfaction in some personal grudge. He did not go on royal business. If he was not wise enough to avoid the princess’s ire, then that is his fault.”

Yang Guo bristled, “the grateful pleasure sect has long supported the Royal Clan. The Princess cannot just cripple its successor without a trail.”

The Prince nodded and said, “she will answer to that and many other treasons once I take the throne. The best revenge you can take for now is to help me shore up support from the coastal sects. My father is in closed door cultivation trying to ascend to higher realms of cultivation, but it does not look promising. I on the other hand…”

The Prince flexed his cultivation outward and Yang Guo gasped, “You… you have reached the Golden core stage.”

The Prince allowed himself a smirk, “the Princess can play around in the interior as much as she likes. When I display my power then none with oppose my rise to the throne.”

The Prince turned back to the living stone and this time whipped a tongue of blazing flame qi at the target. When the whip connected the stone turned dark pink instantly.

Xiulan was sweating. She had bought the Qi Siphon palm for five spirit stones and her debt had already doubled to ten. Yanlin must have moved as quickly as he could, but the debt was still about to tick over to twenty spirit stones.

With five minutes to go Xiulan finally saw that she had fifteen spirit stones under her assets. Yanlin must have just closed the deal with the Prince. Xiulan quickly paid back the debt and breathed a sigh of relief when the system noted the change in her assets and liabilities.

Once again Xiulan resolved that going into debt at these terrible interest rates was a terrible idea. But now that she had a reliable source of goods to sell to the mainland, she likely could accelerate the growth of her Goddess of wealth aura tremendously. She could already feel that the qi she was exuding had increased substantially when she earned spirit stones instead of gold.

They had all made their way back to the slowly forming city and the headquarters of the Golden Fist bank. The Princess was reading through some correspondence that her sources had sent her from the Capital and sighed, “The Prince has just made a decree that all emigration from the coast to the interior is banned. I guess the sects finally noticed that all of their servants were disappearing. The Prince has also decreed that all servants who lack cultivation are to be declared slaves.”

Xiulan shook her head and commented, “I can see why you do not want to leave the Kingdom to his stewardship. He sounds like an arrogant despot.”

The Princess nodded and then pulled out another note. “At least this letter is heart-warming. Apparently, Yang Shan washed up down river. His father is furious but for now there are not any plans for retaliation from the grateful pleasure sect.”

Xiulan narrowed her eyes and cautioned, “that most likely just means that the Prince is consolidating his power in the Capital. I am sure that his crippling will not just be left unavenged.”

The Princess hummed agreement before glancing at another note and then freezing. After a minute she said in a fury, “it looks like you were right to doubt Qi Shen. He has been seen following my brother around like a faithful hound. My brother is even using him to reveal all of my ‘weakness’ to the sects in the Capital. Apparently, he even got drunk at a feast with the Crystal Sword sect and started raving about how I had taken up with a bunch of harlots and whores.”

Xiulan shook her head and said not unkindly, “I told you love can turn to hate quickly. Especially for cultivators. They are used to getting what they want. If you like I can send the twins with some poison, and we can try and bring him back. You might be able to talk some sense into him.”

Lijuan refused with a quiet voice, “no he is too far gone. We can leave him alone to clean up with the rest of them when we unseat my brother.”

The core infrastructure of the city was taking shape quickly around them. Meirong had really out done herself. She had divided the city into even blocks of land and the plan was that once they were done with the roads and sewer system, they would open up the plots to be sold to business and residents. Xiulan did not own the land as it still belong to the Crown but Lijuan had taken out a loan to have Xiulan and Meirong build all the infrastructure as well as a new palace in the middle of the city.

Hopefully it would not take long before the city started to boom with business.
