As someone that I’ve fought through life and death with on the battlefield, he implored me to take care of you and I agreed. However, you have been wearing down my patience!”
The Princess was scared silly, croaking out: “My Lord, I-I love you too dearly-”
“Enough!” ZhenBei Wang no longer wanted to hear her explanations. “From now on, the Princess is not allowed to take one step outside of Liqing Pavilion. When your brother arrives, tell him to take you back to the capital!”
“No!”
The Princess threw herself at ZhenBei Wang. “My Lord! Are you forsaking me? I won’t leave, I want to stay with you!”
ZhenBei Wang pried apart her grasp on him. “Take her back to Liqing Pavilion.”
“My Lord! I’m the Princess of Qing! How can I live after you’ve divorced me? I’d rather you kill me instead! My Lord-”
ZhenBei Wang ignored her desperate cries. Sparing her life was already the biggest act of charity he could give to his brother in arms.
ZhenBei Wang bent down and gently pulled Shen Yu into an embrace, catching his gaze of disbelief.
“Silly Yu Er. You thought I liked you for those reasons, and that’s why I wanted to take you as a concubine?“ ZhenBei Wang was both angry and saddened. “I like you, because you’re my Yu Er!”
