“You’re letting an individualistic non-land creature be a training partner.” Bai Chunian waved his hand, “He doesn’t know how to do anything that humans can do.”

Han Xingqian asked, “Then can I collect some data on Rimbaud’s movements?”

“Sure.”

Dai Ning reclined his seat back and asked Bai Chunian, “So is our plan still going ahead as usual?”

“Proceed as originally planned.” Bai Chunian snapped his fingers. “The problem is not big. We just got an extra fish to deal with.”

Bai Chunian stared at the map on the electronic screen on his wrist. “We’re almost there, let’s go.”

The instructors pulled out a balaclava and skull mask from under their seats and nimbly put them on. They had already taken off their instructor’s uniforms and changed into regular clothes. They put on a parachute rig, opened the door, and flew down.

Bai Chunian was holding his balaclava and metal skull mask, crouching in front of the monitor screen to look for Rimbaud’s tracks.

Camera speakers were installed in every corner of Hearts Island to make it easier to record the trainees’ combat performance. He easily found Rimbaud from thousands of camera shots.

Rimbaud was lying on the surface of a valley creek leisurely sunbathing. The creek fish were roaming around him, helping to clean and massage him. If they were lucky enough, they could even eat a blue jellyfish. The rural fish in the valley had never seen the king, yet one day, this fairy descended, and they all threw themselves down in worship.

Hearts Island was located in the south. This month, the wildflowers in the mountains were in full bloom. A cluster of unknown white flowers were growing near the stream. The musk rose pheromones emitting from Rimbaud’s body attracted a few blue butterflies to land on him.

He turned over, his head resting on a HK416 carbine rifle. The sun shined at just the right moment. When Rimbaud raised his head, his snow-white cheeks and shoulders seemed to be covered with a honey-colored veil.

Bai Chunian was mesmerized, and in a trance, even the bandages wrapped around his body became a pure white satin wrapped around a sculpture of an angel in a museum.

Bai Chunian didn’t realize his breathing had sped up. He suddenly wanted to grab a handful of dirt or something else to smear on Rimbaud’s pure white body. In short, get him dirty, then tear off the bandages wrapped around his body one by one; making him hide the scars on his back in a panic. But since there was no one to protect him, he could only curl himself up in shame for protection.

The more he got to know about Rimbaud, the more Bai Chunian could feel the huge difference between him and ordinary people. There was a pure and holy aura on him, which captivated and led people to their demise.

He wanted Rimbaud’s body to be full of his scent, to be covered with hickeys all over, and wanted to make his flat, thin belly swell erotically. Pilgrims didn’t necessarily need to kneel at every step of the stairs if they want to get close to the god. They could also use the golden bells and red ropes used for praying to tie the god’s neck and drag him down to the human world.

Bai Chunian was suddenly awakened by his dirty thoughts and pulled at his hair intolerably.

“Okay, don’t move. I’m going to measure your heart rate.” Han Xingqian glanced at him, then wrote down the numbers in his record book with a pencil. He looked up at Bai Chunian, “You’ve grown. This father of yours is very grateful.”

“Fuck you. Can you stop observing me all the time?”

“It’s part of my job.”

Bai Chunian almost forgot that after getting picked up by Uncle Jin from the underground boxing ring, it had been Han Xingqian who had done his follow-up rehabilitation during the time when he received treatment at the Alliance.

“Forget it. I won’t argue with a scholar.”

Bai Chunian turned on the communication speaker by the stream and called out, “Rimbaud.”

Rimbaud heard a familiar voice and looked all over for a while, then found a hidden camera beside him.

“Let me discuss something with you.”

After Rimbaud finished listening, he picked up a wildflower and lay in front of the camera. His voice was magnetic and alluring, “Sure. How are you going to thank me, then?”

A butterfly flew over and landed on the white flower in between Rimbaud’s fingers. The flawless face in the lens was very close, as if almost kissing it.

“Don’t go too far. Making trouble for me and even negotiating conditions.”

“Then I’ll…fight each…person…I see.” Rimbaud sniffed the flower in boredom, obviously not backing down.

“What do you want then?” Bai Chunian’s mouth was dry, so he asked in a hoarse voice.

“When you get back…want you….to masturbate for me…and record it.”

He said so frankly and straightforwardly that Bai Chunian didn’t even have time to cover his mouth through the screen.

Han Xingqian let out a tsk sound, “Wonderful. Send me a copy too, it’ll greatly help with my research.”

“Go research your aphrodisiacs.” Bai Chunian stretched out his foot and kicked Han Xingqian off the plane.

After explaining to Rimbaud, he put on the parachute rig and also jumped off.

Bai Chunian’s landing location was near a dilapidated temple. A signal tower was installed here. The temple had been modified, with monitoring equipment and weapons placed inside. Numerous display screens were arranged below the statue of the deity.

The other instructors had long since arrived. They had finished adjusting the equipment, had set up the tents, and were now cooking next to the campfire.

Bai Chunian and Han Xingqian put away their parachutes and entered the temple. The inside was very spacious. Marble statues of goddesses were placed everywhere. In the middle was an abandoned altar. There were wildflowers blooming very abundantly inside. This place was originally built in the style of ancient Nordic architecture. Later, the Alliance bought the island and it was used as a military exercising ground, and these buildings were left unused.

The sniping instructor Lorentz was sitting by the fire and eating canned food, the black balaclava and skull mask lifted to sit on top of his head. The other instructors also wore similar frightening attire.

“The outermost weapon ammunition box should be empty already.” Bai Chunian stared at the map on the screen. Every trainee had a status monitoring device attached to them, providing a clear view of them on the map. The scattered green dots on it represented the trainees’ position. When the color changed to orange, it meant that the trainee had been attacked. When it changed to red, it indicated that they had been incapacitated and were treated as having died in battle.

“K, disable the perimeter’s fixed ammunition boxes, then start a fire and place a few bears and leopards in these places I’ve marked. Drive those little brats who are staying in the mountain valley to where there are more people.”

Technology instructor K was a reticent alpha. He was dressed entirely in black, and his face was completely covered with a skull mask. He silently tapped on the keyboard, and soon, a few scattered green dots became orange and began to move quickly toward the center of the map.

The other instructors came over and surrounded them. Lorentz held a tin can in one hand and a spoon in the other, scooping out food to eat while looking for his trainees among the numerous monitor screens. He rubbed the oil on the corner of his lips. “Heh, the little guy found the commanding heights very quickly, as expected of a student I taught.”

The tactics instructor Hong Xie put his hands on his hips, his gaze focused on the screen. “This damn kid. I taught him how to attack inside a narrow valley 180 times already yet he still can’t remember. I wonder if his brain is used for shitting? These kids will anger me to death sooner or later.”

Dai Ning leaned on the back of Bai Chunian’s seat and pointed at the monitor screen. “Chu-ge, look at this.”

Bai Chunian looked in the direction he pointed at.

“This is a kid from the sniper class, surname Xiao. He trains really hard in my class.” Dai Ning said, “But the two of them happened to be on the same team in the last few weekly exams. Lu Yan, that clever little brat must have deliberately formed a team with that kid by taking advantage of the system. Lu Yan’s sniping isn’t good. He’s pretty fast at thinking about bad ideas.”

Bai Chunian sneered, “They complement each other quite well. As far as I know, Xiao Xun is weak in close-combat. Together with Lu Yan, he can maximize his own safety.”

Han Xingqian leaned back in his seat and watched the monitors leisurely. He wasn’t in charge of a class. The biochemistry class was recently added, so it was pretty much out of the scope of this assessment.

“K, find a chance to mess with one of them.” Bai Chunian lightly tapped the table. “I’ll see if they have any other solutions after this.”

Technology instructor K nodded.

Xiao Xun was squatting on a lush banyan tree in the middle of the valley, holding an M25 sniper rifle in his arms and had an ArmaLite sniper rifle on his back. Carrying two sniper rifles, it was clear that he had completely given up on close-combat and was focusing on long-range sniping.

Their team also had a border collie alpha who was controlling a drone to search for the next supply point. The remaining three members were doing their own thing at their post.

Lu Yan was under the tree, carrying a rifle he snatched and using a set of binoculars to observe the enemy’s position.

He licked his lips and muttered, “Ah, I saw Lanxing. We didn’t come out victorious in the last few monthly exams, so this time we must beat him no matter what.”

“Xiao Xiao, how far are we from them?”

Xiao Xun held the sniper rifle without moving a muscle and used one eye to aim. He answered indifferently, “637.21 meters.”

“I’ll drive down with three people and give you a signal when we’re about to arrive. You shoot down the bomber on the periphery of the high-rise building first. Then we’ll try to drive them out of the bunker, and you’ll snipe the rest.”

Xiao Xun quietly agreed, “What about Bi Lanxing?”

Lu Yan: “He has the Poison Ivy Armor, so he definitely won’t be brought down with one hit. I’ll do a sneak attack from behind him this time. They took the missile ammunition box, so I’ll take it from them and give it to Border Collie to use. Go go go, get in the car! Charge ahead with Lu-ge!”

The few instructors behind the monitor laughed together.

Bai Chunian supported his head with his hand and smiled. “This little rabbit is really fierce.”

After Lu Yan’s team drove off, Instructor K changed the programming, which opened an animal’s cage.

Xiao Xun was completely focused on the target in the sniper scope. The ragdoll omega guarding him from below the tree vigilantly stood up. He softly warned Xiao Xun, “There’s movement.”

Xiao Xun turned his head—a mechanical wolf suddenly came out from within the jungle. It extended its canines and leaped toward him with a snarl.

Xiao Xun immediately turned around and jumped off the banyan tree to avoid its attack. He rolled on the ground with the sniper rifle in his arms, fired a rapid shot, and shot the metal wolf in the heart. While Xiao Xun was changing bullets, another wolf charged toward him from behind. Xiao Xun switched to the sniper on his back at once. When the wolf was about to pounce on him, he slid to Ragdoll’s side on his knees, then killed the mechanical wolf with a headshot.

After he finished dealing with the two mechanical wolves, Xiao Xun climbed back to the original sniper position and stared intently at the enemy through the scope.

Behind the monitor, several instructors clicked their tongues and praised, “He’s really something.”

Bai Chunian was paying attention to the number of people on the field. Once more than half the students had been eliminated, he turned his head and said to Instructor K, “Announce the second phase of the mission.”

Immediately, a notification that the mission was successfully released appeared on the map.

Lu Yan’s team was chaotically fighting with Bi Lanxing’s team. Two of Bi Lanxing’s team members were killed by Xiao Xun, while an omega in Lu Yan’s team was also strangled by Bi Lanxing’s poison ivy. When the two were in the midst of the pitched battle, the mission notification sounded.

“To the surviving students, please pay attention. Now announcing the second phase of the mission: Seven armed terrorists have infiltrated the ruins of the temple in the southeast of Hearts Island. Please wipe out all terrorists before the end of the assessment. If all students die in battle, it will be regarded as failing the assessment. Photos of your targets have been provided below.”

Lu Yan hid behind an abandoned warehouse and quickly flipped through the contents of the second phase of the mission.

“Seven of them…” Lu Yan swallowed. “What is this? It must’ve been Lao Ne’s idea.

After a short time at the special training base, Lu Yan had thoroughly learned Bai Chunian’s nickname.

The mission notification sounded again.

“Second phase mission tip: Find the assist staff on the map to help with the assault. A photo of the assist staff has been provided below.”

Rimbaud’s photo surprisingly appeared on the electronic screen.
